David and Cheri Kelso
At the age of 5, David was led to Christ by his
father, who had recently trusted Christ himself. In his early
20's, recognizing God's call
to full-time ministry, David joined a team that founded the work of Word
of Life in Portugal.
Cheri received Christ at the age of 12 at Word of Life in New York.
Upon completing Bible school, she and David were married in 1979 and
accepted for themselves Joshua's personal challenge,
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"
(Joshua 24:15).
In 1985, the Kelsos were invited to participate in a camp Word of Life
organised in Bristol. The Lord used this trip to burden their hearts
for the spiritual needs of the British young people. The following
year, they relocated to the UK and began the work of Word of Life in
Scotland.
Since 1991, David has directed the ministry of WOLUK.
After 19 years in Scotland, David and Cheri relocated to Sunderland, in
the Northeast of England in 2007. When not involved in the various
aspects of WOLUK, they assist their church in Gateshead. |
