Word of Life was founded in the 1940's by Jack Wyrtzen for the purpose of reaching young people with the Gospel of Christ. His burning desire to see people come to Christ brought Jack to England and Scotland for a series of evangelistic meetings in 1946.

Since 1980, Word of Life has operated in Britain for the purpose of evangelising and discipling young people to build up the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is being achieved through local church based ministries such as DYEs (Discipling Youth Events), EYEs (Evangelistic Youth Events), Missions and pulpit supply.  We also assist local churches in all age ministry that includes family fun days, quiz nights and topical seminars.  Through the Associate Staff Advancement Programme (ASAP) we work alongside local churches in equipping and creating ministry opportunities for teenagers and young adults.

Word of Life also is involved in schools work as well as organising residential holidays for children and teens.
